The Many Ways to Give Back Through Soldiers’ Angels
May 30, 2024
Giving back through Soldiers’ Angels doesn’t just mean being an Angel Volunteer or making a monetary donation. We have multiple ways you can lend a hand to help us support Service Members, Veterans, and their families. Whether you work for a big corporation, are a small business owner, or an individual just looking to give back in some way, we have something for everyone.
Here’s a look at the many ways you can make a difference in the lives of Service Members, Veterans, and Military families.
Fundraise
Soldiers’ Angels has a dedicated peer to peer platform that allows anyone to fundraise in whatever way they want. The way you host a fundraiser is limited only by your imagination. Whether it’s a race you’re training for, a benefit concert, or you want to sell handmade goods, you can use your passion to make a difference. Here are two great examples of fundraisers:

Corporate Engagement
There are so many ways you can get your whole team involved in giving back. Seriously, the sky is the limit! We love corporate engagement initiatives because many hands make light work and it’s so great to see teams of people come together for a good cause. We’ve had companies add a giveback component to their events, dedicate a volunteer day to join us for a Food Distribution or packing party, or spend the holidays adopting a family or participating in our Holiday Stockings for Heroes drive. Matching Gifts
Employer matching gifts are a powerful way to amplify the impact of individual donations to nonprofit organizations. When an employee makes a donation, their employer may match that contribution, effectively doubling or even tripling the original gift. To take advantage of this, the employee typically needs to follow a specific process: they must submit a matching gift request to their employer, often through an online portal or by filling out a form. You can search here to see if your employer offers a matching gift program.
Combined Federal Campaign
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is a fundraising initiative that allows federal employees, including those in the Military and civilian sectors, to donate to eligible nonprofit organizations. Established in 1961, the CFC is the world’s largest annual workplace charity campaign. It operates through a centralized system where employees can pledge contributions via payroll deductions, one-time donations, or volunteer hours. Each year, the campaign runs from September to January, providing a structured period for fundraising efforts. Donors can choose from thousands of vetted charities across a wide range of causes, ensuring their contributions support the issues they care about most. The CFC simplifies the giving process, promotes philanthropy within the federal workforce, and maximizes the collective impact of individual donations, benefiting countless nonprofit organizations and the communities they serve.
If you work for an eligible company or organization, you can give to Soldiers’ Angels through CFC using code #25131.
Support Collection Drives
Soldiers’ Angels collects items throughout to the year to distribute overseas to deployed Service Members, across the country to active duty military installations, and within the Veteran communities we serve. Donate Vehicles
Got an old hunk of junk that needs to go like a car or a boat? Why go through the process of selling when you could donate it? Thanks to Veteran Car Donations, you can donate your vehicle (and other things) to Soldiers’ Angels. Veteran Car Donations will make arrangements to conveniently and quickly pick up your vehicle donation at no cost to you. They also handle the title transfer requirements and provide you with a tax-deductible donation receipt at the time of pick-up.
Donate Crypto
Did you know that Soldiers’ Angels accepts cryptocurrency for donations? Combining simplicity, safety, and efficiency with sound tax benefits are great motivators for anyone thinking about donating crypto. Donating using digital currency is also safer than using a check, credit, and/or debit card. The security around blockchain transactions is intense and, as such, protects you, your donation, and the nonprofit you are donating to. Learn more here.
