2021 Home of the Brave Sponsors

We are so grateful for the amazing corporate sponsors who supported the Home of the Brave Campaign this year! Soldiers’ Angels Home of the Brave campaign works directly with the VA Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) and corporate partners to provide employees and employers the opportunity to show their gratitude for veterans on or around Veterans Day. Each year during the week of Veterans Day, our corporate sponsors take on fun events and projects in VA Hospitals near their employee locations across the country to celebrate Veteran patients.

“This year we were supported by 7 extraordinary companies: Peraton, Bristol Myers Squibb, USAA, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Republic Services, Grunt Style, and Black Rifle Coffee, all of which took action in support of Veterans. Though 2021 still carried most of the restrictions and challenges of the previous year, our site coordinators and volunteers persevered by tying no-sew blankets, putting together cinch bags of needed items, providing meals, creating a thank you video, and more. By November 12th, we will have honored nearly 25,000 veterans at 125 VA medical center sites in 43 states plus Washington, DC. Volunteering is a win for everyone including the volunteers themselves, the companies they represent, VA Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE), Soldiers’ Angels, and as is our mission, Veterans.”

– Katie Bowen, Director and Founder of Home of the Brave

How it Works

VA facilities can register with us and select the type of event they would like to have in celebration of Veterans Day. From there, our corporate sponsors contribute to the cost of the Home of the Brave celebrations and provide the volunteer base from among their employee population to execute the event. It was so exciting to see the photos come in from VA Hospitals across the country during Veterans Day week! Here’s a look at the 2021 Home of the Brave companies who made this possible.

Title Sponsor: Peraton

Last year, after gifting the Home of the Brave campaign to Soldiers’ Angels, our Title Sponsor, Perspecta merged with Peraton. Over the course of 10 years through legacy companies, they have supported the Home of the Brave campaign. This year we were grateful to have Peraton carry the title sponsorship! The company registered 51 employees as site coordinators and 76 employees as volunteers.

Peraton’s mission is to “protect and promote freedom around the world.” The company is very dedicated to supporting active duty service members and the veteran community in multiple ways.

Peraton’s commitment to veterans: “Honoring those who served is our patriotic duty. Each year, our employees acknowledge the sacrifices made by our veterans through participation with organizations and activities designed to honor our military service members – past and present.”

Gold Sponsor: Bristol Myers Squibb

Bristol Myers Squibb is a longtime supporter of the Home of the Brave Campaign and is the 2021 Gold Sponsor. This year, the company filled 89 of the 125 Site Coordinator leadership positions with BMS employees and overall had about 300 employees volunteer in efforts across the country.

“The Veteran’s Community Network at BMS supports the Home of the Brave campaign because we believe strongly in supporting veteran patients. Our goal is to thank them for their sacrifices and to partner with VA Medical Centers in addressing veteran patient health disparities.”

Silver Sponsor: USAA

USAA has been a wonderful partner to Soldiers’ Angels over the years. This is their first year sponsoring Home of the Brave, registering 45 employees as volunteers! USAA has served the military community and their families since 1922. They are dedicated to investing time, talent, and financial resources to improve lives in the military and local communities where we live and work. We are grateful to have them join us this year for Home of the Brave.

Bronze Sponsors

In previous years, we’ve had just a handful of sponsors support Home of the Brave but this year the effort expanded. We are so grateful for our Bronze sponsors who came on board to help celebrate veterans.

Black Rifle Coffee Company

Black Rifle Coffee Company is a veteran-owned coffee company that develops its explosive roast profiles with the same mission focus they learned as military members. They are committed to supporting veterans, law enforcement, and first responders and give back with every purchase you make. This is their first year sponsoring the Home of the Brave Campaign.

Grunt Style Foundation

You might recognize the Grunt Style Foundation from the recent Road Trip Across America for charity we’ve been sharing. We were one of five organizations they chose to raise money for and are honored to have them as a partner for the Home of the Brave Campaign this year as well.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Home of the Brave Director Katie Bowen started this initiative while working for Hewlett Packer Enterprise. The company has been a sponsor for 7 years and is committed to being a force for good and an agent of positive change in communities around the world.

Republic Services

Republic Services is an industry leader in U.S. recycling and non-hazardous solid waste disposal. As a first-year sponsor, they had 64 employees registered to volunteer!

The Home of the Brave Campaign was a huge success, with nearly 25,000 veterans honored over the course of Veterans Day week this year. It’s all thanks to these dedicated businesses.
