Giving Tuesday NOW!

In this time of uncertainty, there’s a fundamental truth that gives us hope – that together we can do extraordinary things. Over the past few weeks and months, the entire world has been coming together to stand up, help out, give back, and heal. Whether that’s through donations to community organizations, celebrating doctors and nurses at shift changes, or reaching out to a neighbor to help with groceries, generosity has been helping the entire world get through this global pandemic. Together.

On May 5, 2020, Soldiers’ Angels is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of unity and giving. As you know, our organization has been working to create new programs and adjust old programs to support the current needs of the military and veteran community. Learn about all of the Soldiers’ Angels COVID-19 Response Programs here.

But we can’t do this without you!

Here’s how you can support Soldiers’ Angels, our troops, veterans, and military families during Giving Tuesday Now:

Make a Cash Donation

Soldiers’ Angels relies on the support of private donors, corporate partners, and grants in order to continue our vital mission. Due to the current health crisis, these funds are in even higher demand than normal. At Soldiers’ Angels, $0.965 of every dollar donated goes towards our programs, so you can rest assured that your donation will go to support our military community!

You can donate through our website or via phone at any time of the year, but for Giving Tuesday Now, we have some additional methods to donate cash:

Donate through the Soldiers’ Angels Website Here

Donate to our Giving Tuesday Facebook Fundraiser Here and help us reach our goal of raising $16,000 on Giving Tuesday!

Donate to our Go Fund Me Charity Fundraiser and help us win matching funds from Go Fund Me

Make a donation via phone by calling 210-629-0020 Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Central Time

You can also mail a check or money order donation to the following address:

Soldiers’ Angels
2895 NE Loop 410, Suite 107
San Antonio, TX 78218

Create a Facebook Fundraiser

Fundraisers on Facebook are a great way to raise funds for Soldiers’ Angels and share our mission with your friends and family at the same time. Your fundraiser will be set up to connect directly to Soldiers’ Angels and the money will be deposited directly to our bank account once your fundraiser has ended. Many of our followers have created Facebook Fundraisers in the past for their birthdays— but Facebook Fundraisers can be created for verified nonprofits at any time for any reason!

Here’s a quick guide to help you set up a Facebook Fundraiser:

Donate In-Kind Goods and Support Collection Drives

Soldiers’ Angels provides a variety of support and requires a great number of items in order to fulfill those support items. From snack and hygiene items for care packages, box lunches, and hygiene kits to comfort items like blankets and socks, we rely on in-kind donations in order to keep support flowing from our headquarters in San Antonio to deployed service members around the world and veterans in VA Hospitals across the country.

In addition to “everyday” needs like snacks and hygiene, Soldiers’ Angels also hosts collection drives for specific items throughout the year. Currently, although it’s taken a backseat to our COVID collection needs, we are in the midst of our annual Warm Feet for Warriors sock collection drive. We also have some COVID specific collections for items most-needed by our service members and veterans.

Follow Soldiers’ Angels and Share, Share, Share!

In order to maintain such a high Efficiency Rating (96.5% based on the 2018 Audit Report and 97% based on the 2019 Audit Report), Soldiers’ Angels does not spend a large dollar amount on traditional advertising or marketing. Instead, we rely on the support of donors, supporters, and followers just like you to help spread the word about our mission and how we support our troops, veterans, and military families.

Please be sure to follow our social channels and share our posts on your page— particularly our Giving Tuesday Now posts!! As we’ve discovered from our huge network of Angel volunteers, donors, and supporters, the majority of Americans have a passionate connection with our military and veteran community. From grandparents who served to those with family members currently serving, more of your friends and family than you may realize have a story that ties them to the military and they want to help as soon as they hear of our mission!

What’s more, it’s not just Americans that support Soldiers’ Angels. Citizens from all over the world have been impacted by the work of the United States Military and they jump at the chance to support those who have supported them. Soldiers’ Angels currently has Team Angel volunteers representing all 50 states and over a dozen different countries! These individuals all have one goal in mind, to support American troops! Do you have friends overseas around the world that want to do the same?

We Appreciate Your Support!

We will never tire of telling you how much we appreciate your support! It is because of the generosity of our fellow Americans that we are able to accomplish so much for our military community. We understand how trying the current times can be— however, we have no doubt that if we all come together in our support, we will be able to continue doing great things! As Soldiers’ Angels Founder, Patti Patton-Bader, has said so many times:

“If we all reach out and just help a little, these ripples of kindness will turn into oceans of greatness.”
