Show your gratitude for the service and sacrifice of veterans of all generations, active duty service members, and their families by participating in one of our in-person volunteer opportunities.
Not only is Soldiers’ Angels one of the only organizations in the country that provides support to veterans of all generations, but we also offer ways to support our military within your communities through the Soldiers’ Angels Community Support Program.
Through engaging in-person volunteer opportunities, such as visiting patients at a VA Hospital or a base hospital, handing out groceries at food distributions and assisting at a VA or military food locker or pantry, you will be able to share your gratitude in person with past and present heroes.

How to Start a New Area Team
Don’t see a current Soldiers’ Angels in-person volunteer location near you on the map? Create a new team in your area! We’d love to expand Soldiers’ Angels into new locations— but, we do have some guidelines that must be followed in order to start a new area.
To start an in-person volunteer team in your area, there must be at least 3-5 people in that location that are willing to volunteer with Soldiers’ Angels in an official capacity. These volunteer roles would devote a minimum of 5 hours per week (20 hours a month) completing a variety of volunteer responsibilities, including:
- Site Coordinator – Leadership position that oversees the overall site and its activity
- Community Representative – Oversees Community Related Operations (non-VA related activities)
- Community Activities Coordinator – Organize community-related special events like luncheons, dinners, 5k’s, holiday parties, etc.
- Volunteer Coordinator – Recruit and onboard local volunteers to support the site
- Outreach Coordinator – Promote the site through community outreach by attending resource fairs and other community events
- VA Representative (where available) – Oversees VA-related operations
- And more!
We welcome new teams in any city across the country! You do not need to have a military installation, VA Hospital, or VA Clinic near you in order to start a team. As long as you have the right number of people and are willing to find opportunities in your area to support the military and veteran community, you’re welcome to start a new area!
If you think you have what it takes to create a new team in your area, please talk to others in your community first and see if you can garner support to stand up a new site. Once you feel like you have the support to bring on 3-5 people in key roles, please contact us to discuss training and additional steps in the process.
Not Interested in Starting a Team?
You can still help Soldiers’ Angels without starting a team. If you would like to volunteer at your local VA Medical Center or Clinic, you are welcome to donate your VA volunteer hours to Soldiers’ Angels. Once you begin volunteering with the VA and are on boarded, please notify your VA volunteering point of contact that you would like to have your hours counted to Soldiers’ Angels. This is a great benefit to Soldiers’ Angels as an organization and can potentially help in our efforts to expand services in your area.
Complete these easy steps to start volunteering at your local VA and donating your hours to Soldiers’ Angels:
- Contact your local VA Medical Facility
- Complete the VA’s volunteer onboarding process
- Clarify that you want to dedicate your hours to Soldiers’ Angels
- Begin volunteering at your VA
