Meet Our Treats for Troops Candy Collection Sites
October 31, 2024
Treats for Troops is officially open, and our candy collection sites are locked in. Across the country we have companies, dentists, organizations, and even libraries getting in on the collection drive fun! Most will be collecting Halloween candy through November so that we can ship sweet treats overseas to Deployed units and across the country to VA patients.
Want to donate candy? All you have to do is search our Candy Map to find a drop-off location near you. We have HUNDREDS of sites ready to receive your candy. Meet just a few of them in today’s blog post.
**Collection Sites are intended to collect candy from individuals, not groups or organizations. A large candy donation from another group or organization can easily overwhelm the Collection Site, which is responsible for the cost of shipping the candy to a designated address! As a collection site, you have the right to refuse large candy donations, as it becomes your responsibility to ship.
Clarkston Independence District Library
We LOVE that a library is involved as a collection site! What a great way to bring community members into the library to give back. Clarkston Independence District Library is in Clarkston, Michigan.
“Clarkston Independence District Library is excited to be a collection site for Soldiers’ Angels. This is our first year and we’re looking forward to supporting such a wonderful cause. We know there are a lot of Halloween events in our community, so we wanted to offer an option for any extra or leftover candy to be used in a helpful way. We strive to be a cornerstone of lifelong learning and believe this is a great teaching moment for kids. They get to perform an act of kindness and bring joy to brighten someone else’s day. It’s cool to be part of something bigger than yourself! We’re one of the few spots in Clarkston collecting, so we are hoping to get a good response. We hope this will become an annual tradition of ours. Having had family in the military, this is a special cause for me, so I’m happy to support!” – Sissy Phillips
Princeton Management
Princeton Management is a nationwide property management company in its second year as a Treats for Troops collection site. Their corporate office participated last year and collected over 600lbs of candy! Their goal is to collect just as much, but this year, they’ve engaged a little over a dozen of their communities to participate as well!
“This Halloween, we’re proud to partner once again with Soldiers’ Angels to bring a sweet taste of home to our deployed Service Members! At Princeton Management, we strongly believe in giving back and supporting meaningful causes throughout the year. Our commitment to giving was recently recognized in October when we were honored as the best property management company in Michigan for community contributions.
We love coming together, especially for our troops and Veterans, to make a difference and brighten the day of those serving far from home. We believe in supporting and giving back to the community that gives back to us and all in so many ways.”
Sunray Pediatric Dentistry
Sunray Pediatric Dentistry in San Diego, California is one of many dentist offices participating. They’ve got a candy buyback program to incentivize donations (and maybe prevent some cavities in the process). Even better – the buyback incentive supports their local schools! Here’s how it works: for every pound of candy, they’ll donate $0.50 to the local school of your choice. How cool is that?
“We wanted to sign up to do good in our community. Our candy goal is over 1000 pounds. We like Soldiers’ Angels because Jeff Collins is great to work with, and we have high respect for him as a Veteran.” – Dr. Hall
We’re so grateful for all of the support of our Collection Sites! Not only are you helping folks get rid of that pesky candy, but you’re also helping Soldiers’ Angels spread the Halloween love around and saving us time and resources on logistics!
