Treats for Troops
Let’s make them feel like kids in a candy store.
What is Treats for Troops?
Soldiers’ Angels Treats for Troops is a Halloween candy collection program where businesses, schools, churches, and other organizations register as Collection Sites to collect excess Halloween candy from employees, customers, students, neighbors, and members of their community.
Collection Sites can choose to participate in one of two ways:
- Public Collection Site: Be listed on the Treats for Troops Candy Map and accept excess Halloween candy from people in the local community after Halloween.
- Private Collection Site: Collect candy internally from employees, customers, students, members, or other invited participants without being listed on the public Candy Map.
Dental offices are among our most popular Collection Sites and often offer children a small goodie or incentive in exchange for donated candy, but an exchange is not required. Gyms, schools, churches, companies, community organizations, and many other groups are welcome to participate.
Where does the candy go?
Candy is shipped or delivered to VA hospitals, military installations, and Guard and Reserve units across the country that work directly with Soldiers’ Angels and have confirmed they can accept and use donated candy for events, celebrations, and other activities. In addition, hundreds of pounds of candy are included in care packages and stockings shipped by Soldiers’ Angels to deployed Service Members around the world.
Beginning on October 1, registered and approved Collection Sites can log in to their volunteer portal to view a list of available recipient locations approved to receive candy.
Collection Sites will select a recipient from that list and then ship or, when possible, deliver their collected candy directly to that location.
Important Collection Dates
Collection Sites must continue collecting through Halloween and end their collections after Oct 31.
All collected candy must be shipped or delivered to the selected recipient no later than Nov 30.
How can I participate?
Businesses and organizations can register to become an official Treats for Troops Collection Site. Participating is a great way to engage your employees, customers, students, members, or local community while supporting Service Members and Veterans. Please note: Residential addresses cannot be listed on the public Candy Map.
Families and individuals with excess Halloween candy can use the Candy Map to find a participating Collection Site near them. Some locations may offer children prizes or incentives in exchange for their candy; incentives are determined and provided by the individual Collection Site, not Soldiers’ Angels. Families may also request a tax-deductible receipt for their donation.
If you have 10 lbs. or less of candy to donate, you do not need to register as a Collection Site. Instead, use the Treats for Troops Candy Map to find a participating Collection Site near you and drop off your donation.

Collection Site Registration
All Collection Sites must register with Soldiers’ Angels to participate. Registration requires both completing the registration form linked on this page and creating an Angel Volunteer profile through our volunteer portal.
Registration for 2026 Collection Sites opens October 1 and closes at 11:59 p.m. CT on October 31 — or earlier if we reach our candy capacity.
We strongly encourage Collection Sites to register as early as possible. Beginning October 1, registered and approved Collection Sites can select from VA hospitals, military installations, and Guard and Reserve units requesting candy. The earlier you register, the more recipient options you are likely to have available.
Planning a group collection?
Scout groups, schools, churches, clubs, and other organizations collecting candy as a group must register as their own Collection Site. Please do not bring large group collections to another Collection Site, as each site is responsible for shipping the candy it receives.
Collection Sites may refuse large group or organizational donations.
