Honoring Our Veterans For National Salute to Veteran Patients Week

National Salute to Veteran Patients Week was a tremendous success, thanks to the dedication and generosity of our incredible Soldiers’ Angels volunteers! Across the country, volunteers shared heartfelt expressions of gratitude, spent quality time with those who served, and ensured Veterans felt truly appreciated. Here’s a look at some of the inspiring moments from this special week.

Spreading Joy and Warmth at Detroit VA

Long-time supporters from Therapeutic Rehabilitation of Troy joined Soldiers’ Angels volunteers in bringing smiles to Veterans at Detroit VA. They made Valentines, gifted warm socks, and expressed their deep gratitude to those who served. Their efforts highlighted the importance of continuous appreciation for our Veterans.

Heartfelt Moments at Rocky Mountain Regional VA

At Rocky Mountain Regional VA, Soldiers’ Angels volunteers served special treats, created Valentine’s Day art, and engaged in meaningful conversations with over 200 Veterans. A special thank you to Wings Over the Rockies for donating the Valentines that brightened the day of so many heroes.

Commonwealth Financial Network’s Thoughtful Contributions in Atlanta

While hosting its conference in Atlanta, Commonwealth Financial Network made a meaningful difference by assembling 150 giveaway bags filled with puzzle games, pens, playing cards, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and thank-you cards. These bags, donated to Soldiers’ Angels, were later distributed at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, bringing joy and comfort to the Veterans receiving them.

Meaningful Connections at Orlando VA Healthcare System

At Orlando VA Healthcare System, Soldiers’ Angels volunteers provided snacks, drinks, donuts, and coffee to Veterans and handed out coffee and hygiene kits during patient visits. The day was filled with laughs, thanks, and heartfelt conversations, ensuring that Veterans felt valued and appreciated in a truly unforgettable way.

One Veteran patient was even serenaded for his Birthday. We love this twist to Martin Luther King’s Birthday song!

Navy Federal Credit Union’s Army of Love

Navy Federal Credit Union team members supported an incredible 28,480 hand-written cards to Veterans across VA hospitals and deployed troops. From January 26 to February 7, letter-writing stations across Navy Federal’s campuses provided employees an opportunity to quickly complete a Valentine’s Day card, ensuring that thousands of Veterans felt remembered and appreciated. These card’s, along with other Valentine’s Day cards collected through Valetines for Veterans, were distributed in VA Hospitals across the country during National Salute to Veteran Patients Week.

Breakfast, Hot Chocolate, and Pizza at VA North Texas

Nothing brings people together like good food and warm drinks! Soldiers’ Angels volunteers at VA North Texas Health Care System provided a breakfast bar and a hot chocolate social for Veterans, along with a hearty serving of gratitude and appreciation.

Volunteers also hosted a special pizza party at the Community Living Center (CLC). Female Veterans in the unit were also celebrated with Mary Kay gift bags, making the event a resounding success filled with smiles and appreciation. The Veterans were so thankful for the pizza!

Spreading Warmth and Gratitude at Columbia VA Health Care System

At the Columbia VA Health Care System, Soldiers’ Angels volunteers made sure Veterans felt honored with fresh muffins, bags of Joe Muggs coffee from the Books-A-Million Coffee for the Troops campaign, and cozy socks from the Warm Feet for Warriors initiative. These small tokens of gratitude served as heartfelt reminders of the immense sacrifice Veterans have made.

Celebration and Special Visit at Temple, Texas VA

At the Temple, Texas VA, Soldiers’ Angels volunteers created a fun and festive atmosphere by setting up a table complete with a photo booth, handing out popcorn and other goodies, and engaging with Veterans in meaningful conversations. A highlight of the day was a special visit from Miss Texas, who took time to meet with Veterans, take photos, and show her appreciation for their service. The event brought smiles, laughter, and a heartfelt sense of community to everyone involved.
