There are no insignias for an E-1 in any branch of the military. This rank is typically held by new recruits, most of whom are still in basic training.

Army  
Private – A single chevron pointing upwards with a pointed tip.

Senior Chief Petty Officer – An eagle perched above crossed anchors and three chevron pointed down with a pointed tip and a rocker above. One star centered above the eagle.

Sergeant Major – Three chevrons pointing upwards with a pointed tip and three rockers underneath. The center is a star.  
Command Sergeant Major – Three chevrons pointing upwards with a pointed tip and three rockers underneath. The center is a star with a wreath around the star.  
Sergeant Major of the Army – Three chevrons pointing upwards with a pointed tip and three rockers underneath. The center is the eagle from the Great Seal of the United States.  

Marine Corps 
Master Gunnery Sergeant – Three chevrons pointing upwards with a pointed tip and four rockers underneath. The center is a bursting bomb. 
Sergeant Major – Three chevrons pointing upwards with a pointed tip and four rockers. The center is a star. 
Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps – Three chevrons pointing upwards with a pointed tip and four rockers underneath. The center is the United States Marine Corps symbol and two stars. 

Navy 
Master Chief Petty Officer – An eagle perched above crossed anchors and three chevron pointed down with a pointed tip with a rocker above. Two stars above the eagle at each corner. 
Fleet/Command Master Chief Petty Officer – An eagle perched above one star, and three chevron pointed down with a pointed tip with a rocker above. Two stars above the eagle at each corner. 
Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy – An eagle perched above a star, and three chevron pointed down with a pointed tip with a rocker above. Three stars above the eagle in a straight line.  

Air Force  
Chief Master Sergeant – Three chevrons pointed down with a star in the center as a part of the curve, two additional chevrons below the star and three chevrons with a pointed tip inverted on top of the first chevrons.

Chief Master Sergeant – Four chevrons pointed down with a pointed tip and the globe symbol above. The delta symbol is on three rockers above the globe symbol. All in a hexagon shape. 
Chief Master Sergeant of the Space Force – Four chevrons pointed down with a pointed tip and the space force delta symbol with a star to each side above. The delta symbol is on three rockers above the space force delta symbol. All in a hexagon shape.  

Coast Guard
