Believe it or not, one of the items that is most requested from service members and veterans is socks! Just think of how nice a brand new pair of socks feel when you slip your feet in...
Soldiers' Angels wants to help keep our troops and veterans toes feeling toasty, and you can help! Start a sock collection drive & send us new socks in all colors and sizes in their original packaging. We will distribute the socks to veterans in VA Hospitals and include in our care packages to deployed.
Don't worry, we know there are regulations for the type of socks our troops wear when in uniform, but they request socks to wear when out of uniform-- so really, any kind of sock will do!
The sock collection will run from February 15th - April 30th. (Don't worry if your socks arrive a little before the 15th or a little after the 30th-- we anticipate that most people will end their collections on the 30th and the socks will arrive in the 2-3 weeks following.)
2017 was the first year of the Soldiers' Angels Warm Feet for Warriors campaign. Our goal was to collect just 1,000 pairs of socks... but we ended up collecting 8,730 pairs!! This year we hope to collect at least 8,000... but maybe we will blow that goal out of the water too!

Interested in starting a sock collection drive at your business, school, church, group, etc.? That's great! Q: How many socks can I collect and send to Soldiers' Angels for Warm Feet for Warriors?
A: As many as you want! We have had donations ranging from 1 pair to over 3,000! Just please note-- you are responsible for the cost of shipping the socks to our Headquarter location in San Antonio, Texas.
Q: I live near your office in San Antonio. Can I deliver the socks to your office when we finish our collection?
A: Absolutely! We love to meet the people behind the collections! Stop on by our office at the address above and drop off your donation whenever you are ready.
Q: Where do the socks go?
A: After we receive your donation of socks at our Headquarter location in San Antonio, we will distribute to deployed service members around the world and also to veterans in VA Hospitals across the country. For deployed, we send out care packages to the service members we support and even to deployed Chaplains that support entire units. We will include the socks in these care packages. For veterans, we are one of the few nonprofit organizations approved to work within the VA Health System. Soldiers' Angels volunteers work within nearly 40 VA Hospitals across the country. One of their main roles as a volunteer is to visit patients in the hospital. Socks are a fantastic comfort item for these volunteers to take on their patient visits and distribute to veterans of all eras!
Q: I am a registered Team Angel and send care packages to deployed. Do the socks I include in a care package count towards Warm Feet for Warriors?
A: As an Angel, you are absolutely welcome and encouraged to include (or continue including) socks in your care packages. However, we will not be able to count the socks in Angel care packages towards the Warm Feet for Warriors campaign total. Unfortunately, with so many amazing Angels around the world, we would have no way to track an accurate count of the socks that are included in your individual care packages. Socks must be received at our Headquarters in San Antonio to count towards the goal.
Q: Do they need to be store bought socks?
A: Yes, in this case we do request that the socks are brand new in their original packaging. Don't get us wrong, we love the talent it takes to produce a pair of handmade socks-- but due to the volume of socks we expect to receive, we need to be able sort the socks easily by color, type, etc. That being said, if you are one of those talented people out there that like to create your own socks... please be sure to visit the Soldiers' Angels Sewing and Crafting Team!
Q: Do I need to include anything else with my shipment of socks?
A: It is not necessary. Last year we had some lovely thank you cards that came in with socks and we even had a photo or two that were included. We will do our best to include any cards or photos with a care package, but there is no guarantee. If you do include anything like a card or note, it must be in an unsealed envelope.
Q: What size socks should I buy?
A: You can buy any adult size socks. We have service members and veterans of all sizes and genders, so as long as they are adult socks, we'll find the right person for the sock after we have them!
Q: What color?
A: As you will see on our Amazon Wish List, black is preferred, but really any color is fine! As we mentioned above, these socks are not meant to be used as uniform socks by our deployed service members. The military has pretty strict regulations when it comes to military uniforms and every branch is different. However, even deployed have plenty of time out of uniform. These socks will be used by military for time out of uniform. For veterans in hospitals, the color doesn't matter at all, but hospitals require that patients have the Non-Skid socks.
Q: I am sending you socks from Amazon or another online store. How do I get a tax receipt?

Q: Can I make a monetary donation towards the purchase of socks?
