Host a Sock Collection in 3 Steps | Warm Feet for Warriors

There is a reason socks are always on the list. For many Service Members and Veterans, a fresh pair of socks is not just a basic need; it’s a small piece of comfort that makes a tough day a little easier. Warm Feet for Warriors is Soldiers’ Angels’ annual sock collection campaign, and it’s one of the simplest ways to show support with something practical and immediately useful.
If you’ve ever wanted to rally your workplace, school, church, or community group around a feel-good mission, this is it. In just a few steps, you can start a Warm Feet for Warriors sock collection, choose where your socks will go, and help deliver warmth to brave soles.
Step 1: Register and choose where your socks will go
First, register as a Soldiers’ Angels volunteer or log in to your existing account. Once registered, search the database for Warm Feet for Warriors opportunities/shipping address close to you (a VA or Military installation) or select to support a deployed Service Member or deployed Chaplain.

When you choose an opportunity, keep it manageable. You can select one or several. If an opportunity requests a large number of socks, don’t worry, you do not have to fill the entire request. Simply commit to the number of pairs you plan to collect, and other Angel volunteers can help cover the rest.

Step 2: Set up the sock collection
A sock drive is a great “everyone can help” project, because it’s easy to participate and easy to share. You can collect with coworkers, classmates, neighbors, teammates, or friends. Here’s a simple setup:
- Choose a collection container (a cardboard box or bin works perfectly).
- Place it in a visible spot (front office, break room, lobby, classroom, or entryway).
- Add a flyer so people know exactly what the drive is for. To make your drive even easier, use the Warm Feet for Warriors marketing materials.

Step 3: Ship your socks and report your donation
Once your drive ends, it’s time to send your socks to the address you selected in the database. When you pack your box(es), please clearly label them: “Soldiers’ Angels Warm Feet for Warriors”. This helps the recipient connect your shipment to the campaign.
To count toward this year’s goal, socks should be collected between February 1 and April 30. Ship your socks as soon as you wrap up your collection drive. Packages must arrive at your selected address no later than May 15 in order to count towards the sock goal. After you ship, log in to your volunteer profile and report your shipping details. This step is essential; it’s how we track progress and celebrate impact in real time.
***Important – Do not send socks to the Soldiers’ Angels San Antonio address unless that is the address you selected in the database. This updated process helps socks move faster to the people and places that requested them.***
Sending Warmth, One Pair at a Time
Please donate new socks in their original packaging. Adult sizes in any color or style are welcome, since these socks are requested for out-of-uniform wear. Warm Feet for Warriors is meant for community giving (friends, family, classmates, and coworkers), so please do not solicit cash or in-kind donations from retailers, manufacturers, or large corporations; those requests must come directly from Soldiers’ Angels due to existing relationships and required paperwork.
