We Need Community Now More Than Ever
Community is - and always will be - a core principle at Soldiers’ Angels. Without it, we would not be able to provide the level of support that we offer. Right now, community is needed more than ever as we are forced to stay inside for safety.

“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” – Helen Keller
These powerful words could not be more true. When Soldiers’ Angels founder Patti Patton Bader saw a need to send supplies overseas, she was counting on the power of community to help her. She didn’t know then that the power of community would lead her to founding an entire organization focused on supporting deployed service members, military families, and veterans.
Community is – and always will be – a core principle at Soldiers’ Angels. Without it, we would not be able to provide the level of support that we offer. Right now, community is needed more than ever as we are forced to stay inside for safety. But community doesn’t have to mean physically being there with others. Our Angel Teams have been a solid source of community for years. These eleven teams of Angels each have their own community to support each other through Facebook Groups.
Our Facebook groups are a constant source of support, creativity, and comradery. Angels share what they’re making/baking, they share thank you notes, funny memes, or ask for advice. We’ve seen friendships, new ideas, and renewed sense of purpose blossom thanks to our Angels and their love of fostering community. The communities that have been built – all for the sake of supporting service members and military families – are truly inspiring. And it’s all done virtually!
Our Angel Teams
Each virtual team supports service members, veterans, or military families in specific ways. We have one large Facebook group for all of our Angels, and then each team has their own Facebook Group with a team leader as an admin.
