Using Pageantry as a Platform For Good
April 17, 2025
At Soldiers’ Angels, we feel privileged to work with an incredible network of Angel volunteers who selflessly serve our Military and Veteran communities. Among them is Angel Cindy, a proud Army Veteran and pageant queen who recently shared her journey of giving back with us. Cindy reached out to send us photos of her mailing out her very first care package. In the photo, she was wearing a “Ms. Maine” pageant sash. She wrote, “At the post office mailing out my first Deployed Service Member care package.”
Obviously, we HAD to know more about Angel Cindy and her pageantry, so we reached out!

From Army Boots to Pageant Crowns
Cindy’s story begins with her own experience as a Service Member. Over time, it evolved into a mission to serve others as a Soldiers’ Angels volunteer. Looking back, she shared a moment that stuck with her. While in the Army, one of her “battle buddies” received a care package from us.
“I remember how it uplifted him when he had no one sending him care packages because he had no family. In late 2024, I saw a social media ad to become an Angel and thought back to that day. I thought, as a Veteran, that was an amazing way to give back and spread that feeling to other vets and active troops!”
A New Purpose Through Pageantry
After the Army medically separated her in 2018, Cindy began looking for a new purpose. Soon after, a friend suggested she enter a beauty pageant, and though she had reservations, she found it to be a platform for much more than just competition. Pageantry became an outlet to volunteer, advocate, and better herself. Cindy uses pageantry to raise awareness for Veteran mental health and nonprofits supporting Veterans and first responders.
“Pageants are more than what media portray them to be. To this date, I have held three national titles and four state/regional titles. I use those titles to raise awareness of different nonprofits that benefit the Veteran and first responder communities. The sash I am wearing in the picture is my current state title as USA Supreme Ms. Maine 2025,” she explains.
Using the Crown for a Cause
Cindy has committed her current reign to shining a spotlight on Soldiers’ Angels.
“I have decided to use my year of reign as Ms. Maine 2025 to shine a spotlight on Soldiers’ Angels, uplift and support the Veteran and Active Service Member communities! With that being said, you’ll see plenty of photos of the sash and crown upholding the mission of Soldiers’ Angels and spreading the word to get more angels involved with the organization!”
Carrying the Mission Forward
As an Angel volunteer, Cindy has dedicated herself to sending care packages to deployed Service Members. Her actions reflect the Soldiers’ Angels mission to ensure no Service Member feels forgotten, wherever they serve.
Cindy’s service goes beyond the pageant stage; it’s about using her experiences to advocate for fellow Veterans and Service Members. We’re so grateful she chose to volunteer and help spread the word about Soldiers’ Angels and the heroes we support.
Thank you, Angel Cindy, for your service, your passion, and for sharing your story.
