Crafting Comfort: Navy Federal Employees Unite for Veterans

On October 10, 2024, in a remarkable display of compassion, 150 Navy Federal employees came together at multiple campuses to create 250+ no-sew blankets for Soldiers’ Angels. This initiative holds immense significance, especially in light of Hurricane Helene, which has left many Veterans vulnerable.

Over 250 blankets were crafted to support Veterans impacted by Hurricane Helene.

A Timely Act of Kindness: Supporting Veterans Impacted by Hurricane Helene

These blankets will soon reach some of the hardest-hit areas, including the VA in Asheville, North Carolina. There, approximately 150 displaced homeless Veterans are currently seeking refuge. As a result, these blankets will provide vital warmth and comfort, helping these individuals feel supported as they navigate the aftermath of the storm. In this difficult time, the blankets serve not just as physical warmth but also as a reminder that the community cares for them. Each blanket represents hope and solidarity, offering reassurance that they are not alone in their struggles. With this gesture, we can help restore dignity and a sense of belonging to those who have given so much.

Community Impact

The act of crafting these blankets not only showcases the dedication of Navy Federal employees but also emphasizes the importance of community involvement in supporting our Veterans. By doing so, these individuals contribute to the healing journey of those working to rebuild their lives. Every gesture of kindness counts during this challenging time.
