Celebrating America By Supporting The Deployed

Happy Independence Day, America! The 4th of July is a great reminder of how far we’ve come as a Nation and all of the Service Members who have and continue to serve, ensuring our freedoms are protected. As a show of appreciation, we have lots of creative Angel Volunteers who go above and beyond to send patriotic care packages overseas to support Deployed Service Members so that they, too can celebrate on the 4th of July.

We asked some of our Virtual Angels to share why they are grateful to be Americans and the fun care packages and items they sent to their adopted Service Members. Here are just a few.

Angel Nicole

Angel Nicole doesn’t Angel alone. Every month she gathers a group of friends together to bake and pack care packages. They call themselves “The Cookie Bandits” and they always look like they’re having fun while supporting the Deployed Service Members they adopt! In honor of the 4th, they packed five boxes full of goodies and 4th of July decor.

“It’s great to be American because we have choices in life as an American. We have freedoms to choose how to live our lives whether it be religion, beliefs, lifestyle, or even to serve our country.” – Angel Nicole

Angel Carol

Angel Carol is one of our Volunteer Team Leaders and assists with supporting Deployed Chaplains. She’s a dedicated volunteer who is always there to assist other Angels and ensure our Chaplains get what they need. You can read more about her here.

“I’m grateful to be an American because we are the best country. Land of the FREE because of so many giving of themselves to make us GREAT.” – Angel Carol

Angel Donna

This 4th of July themed care package from Angel Donna has all kinds of great goodies. It’s her first attempt at putting together a themed box and we think she nailed it!

“I am so grateful to be an American because of the freedom that we are afforded:

  • The freedom to voice our opinion
  • The freedom to vote for our leadership
  • The freedom to pursue an education
  • The freedom to choose our occupation
  • The freedom to worship as we choose
  • The freedom to choose our friends regardless of their race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation
  • The freedom of feeling safe to walk out my door

“I am grateful knowing that regardless of our differences, Americans will always stand together against our common enemies. Most of all, I am grateful to the men and women who selflessly serve in the military to defend our freedom.” – Angel Donna

Angel Christina

Angel Christina is a baker extraordinaire who also goes by “The Bakineer.” She’s always getting creative with her baked goods and the 4th of July is a theme every year. This year’s box of baked goods is to support a Deployed Airman (to share with his unit) and it includes: Brown Sugar Cookies, Cinnamon Roll Cookies, Crumbl Ruby Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Rocky Road Brownies. Read more about Christina here.

“I became an American as the country allows for great opportunities and even small contributions can make a big impact. Through my baking, I can boost the morale of those who fight to keep and maintain our freedom.” – Angel Christina

We are so grateful for all of our Angel Volunteers, who go above and beyond to support Deployed Service Members. Want to join in on the fun and show your support? Learn more here.
