Welcoming New Life with Love: Supporting Expectant Military Moms
July 10, 2025
Becoming a parent is a joyful, life-changing milestone—but for many Military families, especially those stationed overseas or far from loved ones, it can also be a lonely and stressful time. Soldiers’ Angels is proud to bridge that gap with heartfelt programs that ensure no expectant Military mom feels alone when preparing to welcome their little one into the world.
Virtual Baby Showers
Could you imagine not having a baby shower as an expectant mother? Thanks to our amazing Angel volunteers, we throw “Virtual Baby Showers” for spouses of Deployed, Post 9/11 Wounded, ill, or Injured Veterans/spouses, or HUD/VASH Veterans/spouses who are expecting. Angel volunteers from across the country lovingly shop, sew, and craft personalized gifts for these expectant Military mothers. From handmade blankets and booties to heartfelt cards and gifts, these packages are filled with care and support.

“I was kind of bummed out because I wasn’t going to have a baby shower… but I received so many cards from Soldiers’ Angels and some gifts as well that it felt like a long-distance baby shower. The baby loved it. I can’t thank you enough… We loved everything, especially the homemade scrapbook and blankets.”

Every letter, blanket, and package is a reminder to these Military mothers that they are appreciated, celebrated, and never forgotten. Learn more about Virtual Baby Showers here.
Drive-Through Baby Showers for Veteran Moms
Soldiers’ Angels also supports Veterans through drive-through baby showers. In Fresno, the VA Medical Center partnered with Soldiers’ Angels to host a Drive-Through Baby Shower where families received bundles of essentials and thoughtful gifts.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and volunteers, we were able to serve 50 families with:
- Handmade baby quilts
- Personal hygiene kits
- Mary Kay products
- Girl Scout cookies
Each family left knowing that their service—and their new addition—was celebrated.
In-Person Baby Showers in Atlanta
In Atlanta, Soldiers’ Angels has transitioned from drive-through events to in-person baby showers to provide even more support to Veteran moms. These events offer not only baby essentials but also the opportunity to build community and connect with other Military families.
From practical support to heartfelt encouragement, Soldiers’ Angels is honored to celebrate these moms and recognize both their service and their role as parents.
Corporate Partners Make an Even Bigger Impact
Soldiers’ Angels is always grateful when corporate partners reach out to host baby showers. Their support extends our reach and allows us to provide extra care, comfort, and celebration for Military families.
In Orlando, thanks to the generous support of the Florida Panthers and Amazon, 55 low-income Active-Duty and Veteran expectant moms received a little pampering during a Drive-Through Baby Shower. Families were gifted baby items, essentials, and care packages for both mother and child—all thanks to the power of community partnerships.

In Houston, we helped organize a Texas-sized baby shower for 20 Military moms, hosted by the Houston Texans’ Lady Texans and USAA. The event included brunch, games, generous gifts, and a special visit from the team’s mascot, Toro. It was a fun, festive, and deeply meaningful celebration that made these moms feel honored and appreciated. Read more about the Houston event here.
These partnerships are vital to the success of our programs—and to the joy and recognition that every Military mom deserves.
How You Can Support the Mission
Every handmade item, every card, and every donation makes a lasting difference. Whether you are a skilled crafter, a generous supporter, or someone who believes that no Military mom should welcome a baby without community support—there is a place for you in our mission.
