For Veterans exiting homelessness, finally receiving the keys to a new place is a life-changing experience. But walking into that space often reveals a new set of challenges. It’s completely empty, no beds, no dishes, not even a towel.  

At Soldiers’ Angels, we know that housing is just the first step. That’s why we created the Housing Pack Program, to help Veterans move in with more than just hope.  

Why Housing Packs Matter 

Housing solves one part of the problem. But home is built with warmth, comfort, and the basic things that make life functional again. Veterans transitioning out of homelessness often move into apartments with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Without support, they may go weeks or even months without items most of us consider necessities 

What makes the Housing Pack Program especially powerful is how immediate the impact is. Veterans aren’t waiting weeks for help, they receive a kit at the moment they move in, setting them up with the essentials from day one. It’s a small gesture with a big message: You’re not alone. 

What’s in a Housing Pack 

A Housing Pack bridges the gap between “just moved in” and “finally home.” Each pack includes a hand-selected assortment of household essentials designed to meet the immediate needs of a Veteran moving into a new space. Packs typically include: 

• Cookware, utensils and other essential kitchen items 
• Towels 
• Bedding 
• Essential bathroom supplies 

It’s not just about providing things—it’s about helping Veterans feel settled, cared for, and confident in their new beginning. 

A National Reach  

This initiative is currently active in: 

• Denver, CO
• Charleston, SC
• Atlanta, GA
• West Palm Beach, FL
• Sacramento, CA
• Orlando, FL

In each location, Soldiers’ Angels partners directly with VA caseworkers who identify Veterans in need of Housing Packs. Volunteers and donors ensure each kit is thoughtfully prepared and delivered, helping Veterans feel welcome from the moment they walk in.
