‘We can never do enough’: Navy Federal crafts blankets for veterans in need

On Thursday morning, 100 employees of Navy Federal Credit Union‘s Winchester Operations Center spent two hours crafting 150 no-sew blankets to give to military veterans who are down on their luck.
“I can just imagine them with a blanket, sitting there and feeling loved when maybe they don’t have a family around anymore or they’re feeling like their service doesn’t matter,” said Cassie Obert, a U.S. Army veteran who served from 2001 to 2004 and is now working in Navy Federal’s real estate lending division. “When I was deployed [to Kosovo], I would have been thrilled if somebody gave me a blanket.”
