Love in Action: Show Veterans Appreciation This Valentine’s Day
February 1, 2025
Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romance—it’s about expressing love, gratitude, and kindness. While many people celebrate with chocolates and flowers, it’s also the perfect time to show appreciation to the heroes who have served our country. Veterans have made countless sacrifices to protect our freedoms, and a small act of kindness can mean the world to them.
This Valentine’s Day, join Soldiers’ Angels in spreading love and appreciation to the men and women who have served our nation. Here are some simple yet meaningful ways to make a Veteran feel valued on this special day.
1. Send a Valentine’s Card to a Veteran
A heartfelt card can brighten a Veteran’s day more than you realize. Whether they’re in a VA hospital, nursing home, or living alone, a kind message of appreciation reminds them they are not forgotten.
✅ How to Do It:
- Write a short, sincere message of gratitude.
- Get your kids, school, or community involved by making homemade Valentine’s cards.
- Mail your cards to the Soldiers’ Angels Valentine’s for Veterans program to ensure they reach Veterans in need.

3. Start a Collection Drive for Veterans
Many Veterans spend Valentine’s Day alone, especially those in VA hospitals or nursing homes. Fortunately, Soldiers’ Angels volunteers visit Veteran patients year-round, bringing comfort and companionship. Our collection drives provide essential items that volunteers distribute during their visits.
This February, we’re kicking off Warm Feet for Warriors, and we need your help collecting socks of all kinds and colors for Service Members and Veterans. A simple pair of socks can provide warmth, comfort, and a reminder that they are not forgotten.
✅ How to Participate:
- Visit the Soldiers’ Angels Warm Feet for Warriors page to learn about the campaign and then register as a volunteer to participate.
- Select a Warm Feet for Warriors opportunity you’d like to support from our volunteer database.
- Organize a sock drive at your business, school, or church to support your chosen opportunity. Once you’ve gathered the donations, ship them to the designated address listed in the database!
4. Volunteer Your Time
Giving your time is one of the most valuable gifts you can offer. Whether you assist at a food distribution, pack care packages, or write letters, your kindness can have a lasting impact.
