Help a Military Family this Holiday Season

The holidays can be extremely hard on our military families. Many of them live on a small budget, many of them are away from their loved ones due to deployment, or have just fallen on hard times.

Soldiers’ Angels offers a holiday program called Adopt-A-Family. This program is open to families of deployed service members, families of Post 9-11 wounded, ill and injured service members and veteran families enrolled in the HUD/VASH program.

Thanks to the generosity of our angels, last year we were able to adopt 652 military families for Christmas. This year, the request for support is much higher! What does your support mean to these families? Here are some thank you letters we received last year from military families across the country.

“Thanks to your amazing program, our family was adopted by a group of wonderful people in Jacksonville, FL. Soldiers’ Angels provided my family with what we believe will be the best Christmas ever. They sent gifts for all five of our children as well as for my wife and I. They also provided holiday meal gift certificates and a way for us to shop for one another! We are so grateful and we can’t wait until Christmas Day!” – Sgt. Schaffer

“I want to thank you so much for picking the couple that adopted my family. It has been a blessing and awesome, and not just because of the gifts (which I am incredibly thankful for), but out of this I got a friend who is a military wife who understands my struggles and is there to listen and talk. This is the best gift of all. I feel like I won the lottery!” – Melanie

“We have heard from our angels and I talk to one of them just about every day. This means so much to our family. It’s been a hard couple of years on us with our son’s heart surgery. We have told the family that we will send pictures of the children opening their presents on Christmas morning. With all of the sadness in the world right now, because of our angel my children will have the best Christmas they have had in years. I couldn’t be more thankful for them. My heart is overflowing with thankfulness for a family that is a stranger helping another family that is a stranger.” – Michelle

“Our angels have been so incredible! We have been in contact through email every day sharing stories and getting to know one another. They have touched our hearts so much. Not only are they helping us through a difficult time during the holiday season, but they are becoming good friends. One of their employees is a photographer and she wants to take professional pictures of our family, which is amazing because we have only had about two family pictures of all four of us since our son was born. They have just been a true blessing! Thank you so much for connecting us!” – Kevin and Whitney
