BENZIE COUNTY — The Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors Benzie Office is again looking to rally support for the nation’s soldiers through its annual Soldiers’ Angels campaign this holiday season.

For the holiday campaign, Soldiers’ Angels is looking for community members to fill stockings, which will be shipped to service members across the world. The stockings should include a handwritten note or small card to let the service member know that someone is thinking of them.

Recommended stocking stuffers include the following:

  • Stress balls;
  • Holiday nuts, beef jerky;
  • Single serve drink packets;
  • Playing cards or puzzle books;
  • Holiday candy;
  • Holiday-themed pens, pencils or notebooks; and
  • Hats, gloves and socks.

Individuals should avoid sending sharp objects, political material, glass, products containing alcohol (including hand sanitizer), homemade food items, glitter and branded stockings (company/logo/etc.).

Donations can be dropped off now through Dec. 1 at the Coldwell Banker Office at 6919 Frankfort Highway in Benzonia, or the following Benzie County drop off locations:

  • Family Fare, in Frankfort;
  • Shop n Save, in Benzonia;
  • Platte River Inn, in Honor;
  • Dollar General, in Copemish,
  • Benzonia Township offices, in Benzonia; and
  • Infinite Beaute, in Benzonia

No additional packaging is required. Simply tie the stocking shut so that nothing can fall out or close with a stocking cap.

The Coldwell Banker Office will cover the cost of shipping the stockings. Anyone with questions can call the Benzie office for Coldwell Banker at 231-882-8000.
