Soldiers' Angels partnered with Caliber Collision and Allstate to give away another car to a very deserving veteran and the four year old daughter he has custody of. Jason had been taking the bus twice a week for an hour each way to take her to pre-school and then again each weekend to drop her off with her mother. He was formerly homeless and is now in the HUD/VASH housing program. Jason was nominated by his social worker. A very deserving recipient!

Birthdays are a big deal on Facebook. Months before your Birthday, select friends are prompted to start planning a party for you and on your actual Birthday your friends are all notified and prompted to post on your timeline. The result is a wall full of Birthday wishes that make your special day a little more special. In an effort to be a little more charitable, Facebook has a fun new Birthday feature that we’re really excited about! Last week, Soldiers' Angels hosted a dinner for veterans at Valor Point Domiciliary in Denver, Colorado. Chef Lamb, a professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver, generously prepared and covered the cost of a delicious dinner for the event. He also brought along with him some very special volunteers-- some of his culinary students that also happen to be veterans from various branches of the military. He called the event "Vets Feeding Vets." The veteran culinary student volunteers interacted with the domiciliary veterans before, during, and after the meals and helped Chef Lamb create the dinner. The dinner has become a monthly event at Valor Point and features games and good company, as well as a delicious meal. Thank you Chef Lamb and all who made this month's event a success!

Since July of this year, our amazing Angel volunteers have been supporting deployed service member Kaylan with her mission to provide school supplies for a girls school near her base in Afghanistan. Eager to help these young girls, Angels responded in force by sending hundreds of boxes of school supplies, backpacks, shoes, clothing, toys, and more to Kaylan. Last week, we received another update from Kaylan-- who is still receiving supplies. She wrote: "Thank you seems like the most inadequate word on earth right now... but I am speechless..." Follow the whole story and view all of the touching photos on our blog, Supporting the Education of Girls in Afghanistan.
