Valentines for Veterans

January 11, 2019

Every year we receive thousands of Valentine’s Day cards addressed to service members and veterans. Sadly, since the cost to distribute these cards is so high, we are not able to provide enough funding to get these cards to our military and veteran heroes so they can feel the love. But this year you can help us spread the love! All you need to do is include $1 per Valentine you send! This will help us cover the cost of packing & mailing boxes of Valentine’s Day cards to deployed troops overseas & to VA Hospitals! Mail your cards & $1 per card to: Soldiers’ Angels 2700 NE Loop 410, Suite 310, San Antonio, Texas 78217. Learn more about Soldiers' Angels Valentines for Veterans.

We are often blown away by the generosity and engagement of our corporate partners. It’s thanks to them that we are able to do so much for service members and veterans. One example of that is Home Depot. They have pledged stockings for our Holiday Community Partner Program for three years in a row. Each year, they increase the number of stockings donated. Not Receiving Text Messages?

If you are a veteran that has attended one of our Mobile Food Distributions events across the country, then you have received a text message from Soldiers' Angels. Text messages serve as one of our main methods of communication to alert veterans when registration for a food distribution is open and also to alert those veterans on the wait list that there is space for them to come to the event and receive food. We have received several calls from veterans who were once receiving text notifications and then suddenly stopped receiving them. If this is happening for you, please review our recent blog to help troubleshoot your issues.

Thank a Veteran Through Home of the Brave

This Veterans Day, show your gratitude for those who have served our country through Home of the Brave. We have partnered with this annual campaign to help provide Honor Packs and Blankets to homeless veterans and veteran patients in VA hospitals.

Here's how it works:
1) Purchase Honor Packs or Blankets from the Soldiers' Angels Angel Store here: https://angelsstore.myshopify.com/collect…/home-of-the-brave

2) Select from the drop down the state you would like your donation to support. You can also identify a specific city/VA by writing that in the "Special Note to Seller" box on checkout.

3) If you do not wish to specify a state or city, please select "Any State" from the drop-down.

4) You can even order multiple items and ship them to multiple locations-- just specify the quantity you want to go to each location.

All items will be shipped to the VA's in time for volunteers to hand out during the National Salute to Veteran Patients week in February of 2019!

Hop on the Hops for Heroes Bandwagon

This year the Hops for Heroes project celebrated its 7th year of brewing beer to support our military. Breweries from across the country participated by brewing a unique recipe called Homefront IPA. The beer is released on Memorial Day weekend and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Homefront IPA benefit Soldiers' Angels to help us continue our vision of providing aid and comfort to service members, wounded heroes, military families, and veterans of all eras. Soldiers' Angels is now accepting applications from breweries wishing to participate in the 2019 Hops for Heroes program. In order to prevent overlap in distribution, only one brewery per market will be selected to participate. So... if you have a favorite brewery in your area-- help us spread the word about how they can brew to support our military! Learn more here.
