Chaplains Support

Thanks so much for the boxes of cards! Hope you know how much you are ministering to our Soldiers. They come to the office constantly to get cards. You’ve made that possible! These cards help our Soldiers stay in touch with their loved ones back home. I can’t Thank You enough!  Blessings, Dara

Who We Are and What We Do

The Chaplains Support Team (CST) provides direct support to the military chaplains as they bring comfort and assistance to the soldiers they serve. The chaplains perform most of their duties in a non-denominational capacity, and it is these non-denominational activities that the CST supports.

We supply Chaplains with requested items related to their mission, and requested numbers of hand-out letters and gifts that can be easily distributed to those needing assistance whom Soldiers' Angels may not otherwise be able to locate and support.  Items shipped can include everything from non-denominational chapel supplies to delicious food items for special group meals, cards for the deployed to send to family members for holidays and birthdays, and things like games, sports equipment, or books for recreation.

Because chaplains travel throughout the war zone, working with them helps Soldiers' Angels reach personnel who may be in remote locations, feeling isolated and lonely, and in need of a morale boost.  We also strongly encourage these service members to submit their names for adoption through the chaplain.

The CST takes great pride in supporting many deployed military service members in need who enjoy knowing that we appreciate their service and incredible sacrifice in protecting our freedoms and the freedoms of others.

Impact

The Marines were happy to get something else to do besides their usual recreational activities. The kicker was the astro turf. There are no patches of grass that large anywhere on this base, so it was nice to see some green. We haven’t scheduled any tournaments yet, but the Marines are looking forward to winning those trophies. They are very excited. Once again, thank you for your support.

Thank you so much for your generous support and care packages. We received the school supplies, flip flops, and boxers. My Soldiers are so appreciative. We could not do what we do over here without knowing we have the support of our home team. Such love, encouragement, and prayers help our Soldiers make it one more lap around a 15-month track. We redeploy in January 2009. I sent a note of thanks to many of your individual supporters but just wanted to send a quicker e-mail to let you know our great gratitude. My Soldiers stop by every day to find a hygiene item or snack or religious resource or greeting card or pair of socks, etc. for their use. Know that we are very appreciative.

Thank you!

His soldiers call them "God Pops":  This week we received about eight thousand God Pops, doubling our number to about 16,000! No lie.  I wish you can see the way the Soldiers' faces light up when the suckers start flying... Suddenly it is no longer just another long night; their chaplain and your God Pops made the difference. "It's gonna be a long night, guys - grab some extra to keep yourselves awake."  They line the lollipop stick in the loops of the IOTV (bullet proof vests), looking a lot like a Christmas tree. I pray for their safety and they roll out the wire, alert, smiling, and ready to face whatever may come. - Chaplain Nevard
