Tweet for the Troops

Once again, milblogger “Bouhammer” is paying it forward. This time he has teamed up with Vision Strike Wear and Greta from Kiss My Gumbo to sell a t-shirt that will support the troops. All proceeds from Bouhammer’s new Twitter-themed shirt will go Soldiers’ Angels Project Valour-IT.

Twitter is an online texting or “microblogging” community that allows users to mark their text “tweets” with subject categories called hashtags. The new t-shirt honors the Military Monday category, as designated by the hashtag #militarymon.

Bouhammer describes the t-tshirt, and the history of #militarymon:

The front of the shirt has the hashtag #militarymon and the back of it has one cool and tough-looking Twitter bird all decked out, ready to kick butt and tweet names. The #militarymon hashtag to honor military tweeters on every Monday was conceived by Greta from Kiss my Gumbo and TV personality Carson Daly. The #militarymon trend has really taken off and the popularity of it grows every week.

Since its first rollout a couple of weeks ago, three new sayings have been added to the original design (all proceeds to Valour-IT): "Because of them...We are free to Tweet” and "A Tweet for Freedom" and "#Sand if you are not on #Militarymon." Simply select your favorite saying when you place your order at Vision Strike Wear.

Congratulations again to Bouhammer for another creative fundraising idea, and a big shout out to him for paying it forward by continuing to support his brothers from his current location on the homefront!
