Our Military Kids in San Antonio are heading back to school soon, just like the rest of the country's kids. However, some of these kids may need a little extra help getting back into the swing of things and we're calling on YOU to help!
We have been alerted that there are currently 700 children whom are living with their Wounded Parent or Parents at the Warrior Transition Battalion at Brooke Army Medical center in San Antonio Texas. Back in February, we collected donations for hand delivered Candy Grams to our Resident Heroes at the WTB at BAMC and we did amazing by delivering 300 Candy Grams to show our appreciation to our Wounded Heroes! This time, we're extending our wings a bit and trying to help ease them through yet another transition. With healing, working, and family responsibilities these Veterans have their hands full, and we can certainly help to carry a bit of that load for them.
All that we ask is that you consider making a contribution of $30.00. That money will sponsor one (1) backpack for one (1) child in need. Can't contribute monetarily, but you'd like to help? Pick up an extra pack of pencils when you shop for yours this month, and send them our way! (Email firstname.lastname@example.org for shipping address.)
For some of these families, the expense of school supplies is something they just can not conceive at the moment and granting their child the ability to learn and actively participate in school this year is a gift that will surely not go forgotten. So donate now, our Heroes and their families thank you!
