Pin Up Angels

Soldiers' Angels is happy to welcome a new and exciting nonprofit to the Soldiers' Angels cooperative family...

The ladies of Patriot Pin Up in central Ohio gathered supplies and assembled 200 Halloween gift bags for deployed troops.  Each bag was filled with candy and hygiene items, then sent to Soldiers' Angels Pasadena for distribution to the troops.

Each bag included a note from the Pin Up ladies that read in part, "These Halloween goodies bags are just a small token of our appreciation that we are able to live and speak freely because of your service...We enjoy sending the care packages, but await the day when we no longer can because you are all back safe and stateside."

Patriot Pin Up is a group of volunteers who enjoy supporting the troops in a variety of ways, but with their own special twist.  They infuse all of their support activities--from meeting WWII Honor Flights, to visiting VA hospitals, holding bake sale fundraisers and assembling care packages--with a 1940s flair.  From hair to makeup, clothing to music, the ladies bring a joyful spirit of the best of the 1940s to everything they do, creating a fun and upbeat feeling to the very serious support they offer the troops.

In operation for several years and led by Mallory Hammond, the wife of a recently-retired Marine, Patriot Pin Up was just recently designated an official 501(c)3.  They currently have about 10 members, along with 3-4 new people expressing interes, and a half-dozen inquiries about developing chapters in other states.

Congratulations to Mary and her fellow Patriotic Pin Ups for their new status as an official nonprofit, and best of luck as they continue to grow.  Soldiers' Angels is proud to stand with you all!
