As a bank catering specifically to military families, USAA of course has a long and proud history of supporting the troops. Since 2007, that support has at times included Soldiers' Angels, and in October 2012 the relationship became formal with release of the USAA Soldiers' Angels Credit Card.
In 2007, USAA honored delivery of the 1,000th Valour-IT Laptop with $1,000 donated in honor of the winners in each category of the annual Milboggie awards (a total of $8,000). More recently, USAA sponsored the annual Valero Open Golf Tournament in San Antonio and gave Soldiers' Angels 20 week-long VIP ticket packages to distribute to active duty personnel, wounded troops and military families.
Going forward, the relationship continues to develop, with a design team from USAA exploring ways to help Soldiers' Angels revamp its online image. “We are honored to be working with Soldiers’ Angels,” Nathan McKinley, USAA vice president of military affinity said recently. “Soldiers' Angels has done a lot over the years for deployed soldiers and their families...USAA certainly appreciates the many contributions Soldiers' Angels makes for our country.”
The admiration is mutual; Soldiers' Angels is proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with an organization of such proven commitment to serving America's military men and women, veterans and their families.
