The seventh annual Day of the Deployed is just around the corner!
Each year, October 26 is a special day to honor the brave men and women in uniform who serve and sacrifice to protect the rest of us.
This year, Day of the Deployed is more important than ever, because it can appear that many Americans have completely forgotten about our deployed heroes. Politicians don't talk about them very much, and some people are even surprised to find out we still have military deployed to Afghanistan!
Each year on October 26, Soldiers’ Angels, local and state governments, and groups of volunteers arrange special events to celebrate the courage and sacrifice of deployed military personnel and their families. To get involved in your state or to host an event in coordination with your state captain, please click here to learn more about Day of the Deployed, contact DayoftheDeployed@soldiersangels.org, or join us on Facebook for the latest info.
You can also download a Soldiers' Angels Day of the Deployed logo, proclamation to print (pdf), a poem to be read at events, and check out a list of ideas for how to show your appreciation and support for deployed military personnel and their families. Also, please take the time to sign the petition to make Day of the Deployed a national day of honor.
