Pennies for Heroic Veterans

Through the end of July, the VA Support Team is raising collecting Pennies for Heroes.  This is a great, low-key project for a school, church or office--just set up a fun place for people to drop off their loose change and watch how fast it can add up!

In years past, Pennies for Heroes has been used to raised money to cover postage for care packages and to help provide laptops for wounded warriors.  Each donation may seem small, but it adds up to great things.  As Soldiers' Angels Founder Patti Patton-Bader is known for saying, "Ripples of kindness add up to oceans of greatness."

To participate, click here or on the image above to download a flyer and share it in-person or via email (you can fill in the "Contact" section of the flyer with your information, if posting in your office/school/church).

Pennies for Heroes was reactivated this month by Austin-area Angel Melissa, who volunteers with her local VA facility and recalled seeing previous Pennies for Heroes drives.  She thought that would be a great way to boost VA Support Team efforts this summer.  "I started this program because I knew the Veterans Team was needing help filling the Vet Packs and they could always use more help to help with the gas cards," she says.  "I am hoping this can bring in some much needed help."

For questions about getting involved with this project, email Please be sure to convert all funds collected to a Money Order or Cashier's Check before sending to the Soldiers' Angels corporate office with a note explaining they are from the "Pennies for Heroes" project:
