Hero Flights
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all of your help, I really do appreciate it. Our grandson was killed by an IED in Iraq and we wouldn't have been able to attend his services if it wasn't for the Angels. May God bless you, and thank you again. - PVT M's Grandparents
Hero Flights' mission is to serve our heroes and their families in times of great need by providing airline flights and other travel accommodations.
When our deployed troops need to get back home immediately because of a death or serious family illness, Hero Flights is activated. When a spouse or parent of a wounded service member needs to get to the hospital where their loved one has been transported, Hero Flights is activated. When the family members or our fallen heroes need to get to their memorials, Hero Flights is activated. These men, women and families have made great sacrifices for us, and we stand ready to assist them at all times. In the first three months of 2008, Hero Flights provided 286 flights, as well as lodging for six families while they visited wounded service members, and transportation for three units to go home on their pre-deployment leave.
Note: the military provides as much travel assistance as possible for military personnel and families, but unique needs can often develop. Hero Flights performs a vital service to our heroes by filling in the gaps in military travel assistance.
How You Can Help
You can assist Hero Flights with a financial donation that will enable us to continue to meet our mission. There are many ways that groups, organizations, companies and individuals can make donations to Soldiers’ Angels:

Donating unused "frequent flier miles" is another great way to help Hero Flights. If you have 35,000 or more miles you'd like to donate to a soldier or family in need, please let us know by submitting a Frequent Flier Donation Form. We'll contact you when when a soldier needs your miles. You can submit the form online, or print and fax it to 703-992-6424.
Every donation--whether large or small--will help. We can assure you that the brave men and women of the military are grateful for any support you can provide. Your monetary donations and the fair market value of donated items are deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Please contact your tax advisor.
Request a Hero Flight
Click here to download a request form. You can print out the form and mail it with the supporting materials as instructed, or complete it online and email as directed in the form (including supporting materials), or you can fax it all to 703-992-6424.
Important Notes: 1) All requests for flights, accommodation and/or other travel related expenses must include a completed form and copy of legal ID of ALL persons traveling; 2) If you wish to make changes after a flight has been arranged, you must do it yourself and pay any penalties and/or extra charges incurred; 3) Requests for flights MUST be at least seven (7) days in advance of requested travel (except in emergencies); 4) Proof of military service required.
Why It's Important
