![]() Here is why...
HI Pattie, My name is Matthew T. I was deployed to Iraq from Jan 2005 to Jan 2006 and just wanted to write to you and thank you all for all the support and encouragement I got from your organization while I was over there. My unit was the 5th SF group and we lost everyone but me, my CO. We went over there with 40 soldiers. Your guys letters and packages keep my mens spirits up and allowed us to go on even though we lost so many of our fellow soldiers. Your group help us to realize that the people of this great nation truely do support and care about the troops that are risking their lifes in harms way. I was wounded to the point that I was not able to stay in the Army but while I served over there you and your organization made me feel great about wearing the uniform I wore. I almost didn't make it out alive. I started to give up on life but I keep going because of a wonderful lady named Marti T. from MinesotaShe keep emailing me with words of encouragement and ho
pe. She would always go out of her way to make me feel loved and wanted. She even help my wife deal with all the stuff I was going through out there. She really helped Jamie to keep her head up when I was listed as MIA/KIA a few times. She just kept telling J. that I was fine and that I would make it back home to her and our triplets. SHe is a wonderful person who truely cares about the troops and goes out of her way to make them feel loved, wanted and supported. YOur whole group is just awesome. I just wanted to tell you that and thank you again for all of your support for the troops serving in arms way. Proudly Served GOD and Country, Matthew (SGT medicaly Retired) Ways you can help make a difference. The talented daughter of wounded soldier Sgt. James Russell is donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her song to wounded soldiers and their families. Jillian Russell of Worcester, Mass wrote her song "To Dad With Love" while her dad was deployed in Iraq and sent it to him for fathers day in 2003. The song became an instant hit and received national attention. Miss Russell was even invited to the Pentagon to sing the song for U.S. Military leaders and civilian dignitaries.  Sgt. Russell was seriously wounded in Iraq and spent 6 months in Walter Reed Hospital. Sgt. Russell still struggles with his injuries as he continues to rehabilitate and because of her father’s sacrifice and service and her deep affection for our troops, Jillian would like to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her CD to Soldiers Angels to be used to assist wounded soldiers and their families. To purchase the CD or to have one sent to a deployed hero, Please CLICK HERE. Please visit Miss Russell's web site at and thank her for her generous donation and unselfish efforts to help our soldiers and their families. Renegade Rail was the first "Angel Artist" over at Soldiers' Angels. In addition to being great performers, they're also great supporters of our Heroes. |
