History:
Since founding Soldiers Angels Patti Bader answered most phone inquiries herself and as Soldiers Angels grew, the volume became too much for Patti to handle so in 2005 she set up a team of Angels to divide the phone answering responsibilities.
During the time that we answered the phones "live" and could receive as many as 40 calls a day requiring team members to stay by the phone all day. To reduce this burden Patti set up the " Evoice " system allowing people calling SA to leave a message and their calls would be returned that day.
Since the establishment of Evoice and the evolving of SA into a well run, efficient, organization the number of calls and messages have dropped off to a manageable level and the team members no longer have to stay by the phone all day as long as the messages are picked up periodically during the day they are on duty. We have grown from 4 people to 7 with one person covering a day of the week.
Our primary responsibilities are to pick up messages each day left on Evoice through Gmail, call the individual back and answer any questions they might have based on our own experience as Soldiers Angels which means team members should have long distance capability and some experience as a Soldiers Angel. An SA directory is provided to team members containing a list of team leaders, Regional managers, officers, etc to forward information to on situations they cannot handle personally. By handling the message personally other SA members can concentrate on running the everyday business of SA and that should be our first priority.
It is very important that these calls be handled in a reasonable time because they are important to the mission of SA. Some of these calls could be emergencies needing to be handled immediately, so it is suggested that you don't go too long without picking up messages. If you are away from computer the capability exists allowing you to pick up messages by phone.
We have an awesome team of experienced Angels manning the phones everyday putting us in contact with people all over the country and the world. It's a very rewarding experience for all of us.

"...His platoon had had an especially hard day when they lost 3 of their own just 3 months before coming home. I went to the forums and just posted a request for prayers for 1st. Platoon and the response from so many Angels was overwhelming.
Everyone wanted to send cards and packages and Patti got involved and tons ( I'm not sure how much) of stuff from squirt guns to whoopee cushions were sent to Dan's platoon to cheer them up. Dan said it was amazing the support they received from Angels all over the world.
I've been a member since 2004 and I am so far indebted to SA for the support my son received, I'll be here forever paying it off and Patti...I can never repay her or Mary LaPinto for the support my wife and I received from them while Dan was in Iraq.
Dan's unit just got orders for their second deployment in Oct. I'm half afraid to tell Patti. She fused over him so much during the first one.
I hope you can use what I sent you, and Willie, thanks for everything you do in Germany. You are kind of almost on the front line there and it's amazing what you all do. Thank you.
