Sending 4th of July Spirit Overseas

Our Angels are incredibly creative with their care packages - which go way beyond a few snack and supplies. Not only are they thoughtful about what goes in them, they take the time to decorate them based on the holiday or on a particular theme. Since today is the 4th of July, we just had to share some of their patriotic creations!

Our deployed servicemen and women shouldn’t have to wonder if we are thinking of them back in the states. Thousands of deployed service members are “adopted” each year by angels on our Deployed Adoptions Team who spend time and money making sure “no soldier goes unloved.” Our Deployed Adoptions Team sends a letter at least once a week, and a care package of comfort items once a month throughout their “adoptees” entire deployment.

Our Angels are incredibly creative with their care packages – which go way beyond a few snacks and supplies. Not only are they thoughtful about what goes in them, they take the time to decorate them based on an upcoming holiday, season, or particular theme. Since today is the 4th of July, we just had to share some of their patriotic creations!

Patriotic Themed Care Packages

Angel Amy must have spent a lot of time decorating the inside of this box. Her service member is in for a big surprise when they open the flaps and discover there’s a party going on inside.

Angel Christina has a homemade sweet treat in store for her service member. These patriotic cookies look delicious! She really went above and beyond by mixing red, white, and blue sprinkles with America’s favorite handheld chocolates.

This box from Angel Pamela is sure to put a smile on her service member’s face! Her box stands out with its patriotic paper lining. She added goodies like red, white, and blue snack cakes, but she also include oral hygiene products to combat all that sugar.

Look at that snack food avalanche! Angel Jennifer is making sure her service member is popular while on deployment, because there is enough here to share! Not only has she included more than ten snack items, she also made sure to throw in some fun items like glow stick necklaces and bracelets. And of course, in the center of the photo she has her letter from home tucked safely in the box with Lady Liberty ready to greet the service member.

Last but not least, Angel Beth’s box is beautifully lined with star-spangled paper and includes all kinds of candy, snacks, and fun. It looks like her service member will be the life of the party when they’re spraying down their buddies with silly string and bouncing around that giant emoji beach ball!

These service members are in for a pretty nice 4th of July. Of course, not all deployed service members will be getting care packages like these. If these boxes have inspired you to get involved, please check out the Deployed Adoptions Team page on our website for more information.
