Craft Your Heart Out: Valentines

Every year from January 1 through February 14, we collect store bought and hand-made Valentine’s Day cards to share with deployed service members and veterans. This may seem like a small gesture, but it can have a huge impact! Service members and veterans love small gestures that make them feel appreciated – especially when they come from strangers.

“Omg! Thank you so much for the boxes. I got them today. I just can’t believe how amazing you are. I almost started crying. This is awesome. I can’t put into words how grateful and appreciative I am. How can I ever repay you. Thank you all!!!” – Briana

This year’s Valentines for Veterans campaign is in full swing so we thought we’d send some inspiration your way to get your crafty ideas going. Last year we received over 2,000 cards from people of all ages and all skill levels. We’re hoping that this year we will meet or exceed that same number of cards!

Don’t forget— you can also include candy with your cards! Just make sure that the card is attached to each piece/box/bag of candy so they stay together!

We were head over heels collecting and sorting the cards that were contributed to this amazing project! Here are some highlights to spark ideas for this year.

Each year, we collect valentines with messages of thanks and encouragement and send them to veterans and deployed service members. They love receiving these special notes of love and gratitude! To learn more or get started on your valentines, read more about the program here: https://soldiersangels.org/valentinesforveterans
